  • 3D animator currently residing in France (Nice), I specialize mainly in character animation for movies and video games. My knowledge also extends to the rigging, modeling, lighting and rendering, compositing and programming.

My character animator experiences for the company Imperia Media (Vancouver) as a freelance artist and as an employee for the video game company Ubisoft (Montpellier) allowed me to develop my teamwork skills, learn new abilities and consolidate my assets.

My passion for movies and video games helps me stay abreast of new techniques used in features allowing me to provide a high quality work including all the new tools.

In parallel I develop my artistic side in the creation of websites (webdesign, programming).

Curious and passionate, I am in constant renewal, in search of novelties, both software and technological.

    Enjoy your visit.

    Description

    • Here is my latest 2011 animation demoreel. It shows various animation work, compositing work and some modeling/rendering.

    Demoreel Breakdown

    • Creature Escaping:I did the animation of the whole clip, hair simulation, lighting, rendering and compositing. Everything was done with Softimage|XSI except the compositing, done in Premiere, After Effects and Eyeon Fusion.

1st part: On this part I focused on the different styles of runs, both as a biped and a quadruped like a werewolf. I also quickly show some of the passes composited together.
2nd part: I mostly focused on the jump and its momentum and acceleration when falling down. I also did the matte painting.

This clip is from my 2008 student animation demoreel completed during my visual effects and animation program at Think Tank Training Centre in Vancouver.
    • Dragon Landing:Animation in Maya. The goal was to show the flying mechanics and the landing, focusing on the heavy weight of the dragon.
    • Sk8ter Jump (Work In Progress):Animation done in Maya to show the human body mechanics of a skater. The goal is to show the effect of a high landing on the human body and its balance loss.
    • Backflip:Backflip animation done in Maya. The goal of this clip is to recreate a movement done by the "Team Ryouko" (Source found on Youtube). Then add some nice principles of animation like arcs, weight...
    • Gymnast:I did the animation in Maya. The goal was to animate this clip based on a YouTube clip of the gymnast Damien Walters.
    • The Green Mile:One week set modeling assignment done when studying at Think Tank Training Centre. The exercise was to model a set of our choice with some pictures from the web. Modeling, rendering and compositing were done in Softimage|XSI.
    • iPod Shuffle:Object modeled in 3DS Max and rendered with Vray. I wanted to test this software and renderer.
    • Hummer H2:One week car modeling assignment done when studying at Think Tank Training Centre. This was a complete assignment with modeling, unwrapping, texturing, rendering and compositing.

    Description

    • Here is the clip I finished for my 2008 student animation demoreel. I have spend 2 month and a half at school working on the animation of the creature. My goal was to keep that "creature" feeling all along the clip. I tried to do a nice render and put a nice music to amplify the mood.
